The Comandante C40 (MK4) with Nitro Blades is a robust high performance coffee with an advanced burr set design. The selection of the burr material is the proud result of dedicated research and development. 

Comandante refined the geometry and structure of the Nitro Blade burr to get the grind performance and particle distribution they were looking for with this Comandante grinder, which worked best with brewing fresh ground specialty arabica beans.

Manufacturing a Nitro Blade is a serious engineering task which requires special tools and machinery, excellent craftsmanship and lots of experience. High-nitrogen martensitic steel is extremely difficult to work with. But when finished, it is tough, highly wear resistant and has a high degree of edge retention. 

With a perfect balance of aesthetic and engineering, the Comandante C40 (MK4) is  in league of its own when it comes to hand grinders. Consider picking up a for better maintenance of this grinder.

Comandante C40 FAQ

How consistent is the grind of the Comandante C40?

The high-quality burrs and precise adjustment mechanism are known to produce very consistent grinds, with very few fines. Expect a much tighter grind size distribution than with electric grinders at similar price points.

Can the Comandante C40 grind fine enough for espresso?

Yes, it has a wide range of grind sizes, from Turkish fine to cold brew coarse, including the fineness needed for espresso.

How does the Comandante C40 compare to electric burr grinders?

Electric grinders are generally faster and more convenient, but may not always match the Comandante C40 for grind consistency, especially at finer settings. Generally, you'd have to go a lot higher on price point to get similar capabilities on an electric equivalent.
